News and Important Updates
IMPORTANT MESSAGE
Posted On: Tuesday, March 24, 2020
We want you to know that RITA is taking every possible precaution to protect the health and safety of its employees and taxpayers while continuing to deliver high quality service.
Income Tax Filing Deadline
While the deadline for filing federal income tax returns has been extended to July 15, 2020, the deadline for filing municipal income tax returns is tied to that of the State of Ohio. At such time that the State of Ohio extends its income tax filing due date, the municipal filing due date will also be extended - automatically. Check back to this page for further updates, or follow RITA on Twitter @ritaohio.
On-Line Assistance
RITA offers several secure, simple and convenient online services which allow taxpayers to file returns, make payments, review account information, and send secure messages to a RITA agent through MyAccount.
Telephone Assistance
Self-service telephone options such as making a payment, checking refunds or estimated payments, are available to you 24/7 by calling 800.860.7482.
During normal business hours our phone lines are still open but we have significantly reduced the number of customer service representatives in our call center to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. As a result your wait time to speak with an agent may be longer than what you are accustomed to.
In-Person Taxpayer Assistance
We have suspended all in-person taxpayer assistance effective Saturday, March 14, 2020.
Thank You
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Any further adjustments to RITA’s operating schedule will be published on our website. Please check back for updates as they become available.
