East Cleveland is a member of the Regional Income Tax Agency; however, many tax related services are provided in the Tax Department at City Hall, including the collection of delinquent accounts.

The City of East Cleveland has a tax rate of 2%. The credit for paying tax to another municipality was eliminated in 1988.
