RITA Notices & Letters FAQ's

  1. I received a letter stating that you received a request to change my on-line information with RITA. What does this letter mean?

RITA has sent you this letter for ONE of the following reasons:

1.   If you registered for the first time to use RITA's E-File applications, you are considered a new user and you
were required to establish a NEW logon ID and password.

2.   If you are a previously registered E-File user and you are utilizing the E-File applications for the 1st time in a
new calendar year. The iLogon requires you to change your password.

3.   If you changed your password yourself.

  1. Why did I receive a yellow postcard from RITA informing me that I will not be receiving a tax form booklet?

RITA has sent you this postcard for ONE of the following reasons:

1.      Most individuals use a facsimile of our forms or one generated by a taxpreparer or software package when filing their return.  Virtually all of these facsimile and software generated forms are perfectly acceptable to use.  See Sample RITA Postcard Mailer (Preparer).

2.      You previously used RITA E-File (filed electronically) and we encourage your continued participation with RITA E-File.  See Sample RITA Postcard Mailer (E-File).
